My FC1 install is an upgrade from RH9 which seems to be working just
fine other than this. I get the same problem regardless of the package
that I try to update. Any thoughts as to a reason for this and how I
might fix it. Is there an easy way to load the rhgb from the cd with
easy-to-understand commands (I am slowly learning Linux but it's a tough
to for this long time Windows user).
Before you try to use redhat-config-packages (System Settings >
Add/Remove Applications) make sure you have the fix for a bug that
looks for the wrong CD label (redhat instead of fedora).
Jeremy Katz has fixed this already in redhat-config-packages-1.2.7-1.
The new package can be downloaded from
http://people.redhat.com/~katzj/redhat-config-packages/
You will then need to install the new package by using
rpm -Uvh redhat-config-packages-1.2.7-1.noarch.rpm
Hope this is what you need.
