If it's a newer laptop with ACPI you'll need to add "acpi=on" to the end of your kernel line in your /etc/grub.conf.

Mine looks like this:

	kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.22-1.2115.nptl ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb acpi=on

Hi Just installed Fedora Core 1.0 on a eMachines M5310 laptop and the following does not work properly :

1. Power Management is not working under FC 1.0 but works properly with Suse 9.0 Pro
2. How can I get my Radeon IGP 320M to work with 3D, any patches and how to install them.
