cd /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins/ rm libjavaplugin_oji.so ln -s /usr/local/jdk/jre/plugin/i386/ns610-gcc32/libjavaplugin_oji.so Where /usr/local/jdk contains a recent (I'd recommend 1.4.2_02) Sun JDK. For me, the problem was the "gcc32". When I had the plugin symlinked to the non-gcc32 version, mozilla would not even start.
