hi! i'm a relatively new to linux. i've fd1 installed. i recently built a 2.6 kernel from source. there are some issues i've noticed:
a) i'm finding 2.6.0 to be very sluggish. i read on an earlier thread that changing the hd params *might* solve the issue. i've tried doing it but without success. also tried to change hz from 10 to 1000 but no point again. some way to make it (the 2.6 krnl) run at proper speeds?
m/c config: amd 2000+, asus a7n266vm m/b, 256ddr, 80g hd.
b) my modem is not detected on 2.6.0 it works perfect in 2.4.22-1.2115.nptl the modem is a D-Link 33.6 ext
