Did you have to download RedHat 7.3 drivers for the Linksys WPC11 802.11b pcmcia card to get it to work in fedora? Or was it truly "out of the box" (i.e. I plug it in my laptop and evrything works)?
Do you run 128 WEP? Were you able to configure the SSID and keys?
Thanks again.

I have a wireless router and desperately am trying to get my wireless pcmcia adapter to work without luck. The adapter is a netgear ma401.
I have tried suggestions on multiple forums wihtout success, which leads me to my two questions:
1. Is there any 802.11b wireless pcmcia adapter that will work with fedora core 1 "out of the box"?. I have changed the default setting on my wireless gateway/router for essid and my wep (128) keys.
2. Can anyone tell me how to configure the netgear ma401 to work?

i have a Linksys WPC11 802.11b pcmcia card and it worked fine out of the box. i remember having to downlowad drivers for rh7.3 and it didn't work at all in rh9, but it works just fine with fedora. i'd be surprised if you couldn't pick one up for dirt cheap. hope this helps, alex.

seen was fedora. i didn't have to do anything. it immediately used the orinoco drivers, which if
i remember correctly there was a posting on how to do this with rh8. so even though the drivers
did not exist for this exact card it new which to use.
i do not use 128 WEP, but i have been able to set the SSID of our router and get my card to recognize it.
we learned recently that our neighbor has wireless as well. i've been experimenting with using MAC filters
recently, but am not to worried because it doesn't look like anyone else is trying to use our wireless.
