Just a question: why the options to select individual packages during install and configuring authentication methods has been removed in Fedora Core? I used to select the individual packages when installing
It was not.
If it 'was not', could you please expand on how to enable this feature in FC1? I've just finished installing it on 3 or 4 machines, and the opportunity to select individual packages never presented itself to me. This is troubling, but I feel really stupid now that you're saying it should be there, because I looked for it and apparently missed it -- three times.
Well, the same way it always happened: choose "select individual packages". Did you upgraded a system? When you do this, the packages are chosen from the already installed ones. But you can always insert the cd1 on a working system, and choose from package list.

All of the machines previously had rh9 installed on them. However, none of them were upgraded. These were clean installs - all data was wiped. However, at no time did I ever see the old familiar 'select individual packages' checkbox.
Installing packages after the installation isn't really the issue. The issue on my end is that I want certain packages NOT to be installed on these boxes, as they are for a special purpose (and will be in production). I'd also like the benefit of having the deselected packages show up in the resulting kickstart config file generated by the installer.
any other input welcome. thanks.
