Unfortunately not free, but http://www.linuxant.com/drivers/ offers Conexant drivers for Linux. You can get a free version which works up to 14.4Kbs to test if it works, then if you decide to buy the 56Kbs version, it'll set you back $15. There used to be a free beta version (which was buggy, but it was free of charge), but Linuxant no longer provide it, though you may be able to locate it on the web. HTH
