Hello, I just installed Fedora Core 1 on my IBM ThinkPad R40e laptop, which generally works well. Some problems that still occur: 1. I still cannot make my laptop to standby and hibernate mode (perhaps this is related to ACPI). Once I tried to execute: modprobe ac, I got the following reply: /lib/modules/2.4.22-1.2115.nptl/kernel/drivers/acpi/ac.o: init_module: No such device Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters. You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg /lib/modules/2.4.22-1.2115.nptl/kernel/drivers/acpi/ac.o: insmod /lib/modules/2.4.22-1.2115.nptl/kernel/drivers/acpi/ac.o failed /lib/modules/2.4.22-1.2115.nptl/kernel/drivers/acpi/ac.o: insmod ac failed A similar reply I also got when I tried to execute modprobe battery. 2. If I tried to logout/restart/shutdown by using menu, sometimes I have to wait quite long time, but this seldom happened if I use command line, for example "shutdown -r now" to restart my laptop. why is it so? 3. After shutting down everything, the machine would not power off by itself, instead we have to switch off by using the power button. Why is it so? and how to make it poweroff by itself (without manually switching off using the power button). Are there anyone who had experience similar problems? I appreciate any answers and comments ... Thanks in advance. Cheers, Ari __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New Yahoo! Photos - easier uploading and sharing. http://photos.yahoo.com/
