Hans,

Try editing the file in /etc/sysconfig/networking/devices/ifcfg-name

where name is the network interface you are trying to set (for example
ifcfg-eth0)

You should have an entry as follows:

GATEWAY=xx.xx.xx.xx

Replace the x's with the ip address of your default gateway.
