While it loaded the new kernel, it was still running the old one. I don't remember how many levels I was able to postpone the reboot, but it was very 'hands-off' and required no special skills. I was very, very happy. And I like how changing kernels has gone from a cold-water-down-the-back, strict adherance to a howto to a trivial single-command-line ease from the days of RH 4.0 to today. Whoever it is that's caring for the kernel transitions, I appreciate their unsung work and what HAS to be selfless dedication. -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Brian FahrlÃnder Researcher, Conservative, and Technomad Evansville, IN http://Fahrlander.net ICQ 5119262 ------------------------------------------------------------------------
