CUPS and NIS

I use cups at home.. tis really nice to have all the linux boxen able to
share the printer with very little setup, and a nice added bonus when OSX
Panther picked up the printer and was able to print. But I have a
different problem :)

I want to use my Fedora box on the "corporate network" which uses NIS to
distribute information (like printers.conf).. and the print servers are
lpd (so the cupsd doesnt automatically find the shared printers) .. Is
there an option in CUPSd that makes it just obey the mightey
printers.conf.byname NIS map? I really cant go around to every Linux
desktop and setup every possible printer... thats the whole point of using
NIS :)

[tommy@cookies tommy]$ ypcat -k printers.conf.byname | wc -l
    849

yikes!
