Booting From CD-ROM

I have an old Compaq Deskpro that I was easily able to install both Fedora and RH 9 on. I have a much newer Deskpro EN but I can't get it to boot from the cdrom. I've looked at the bios config but there is nothing obvioius to change. I tried using an old RH 7 boot disc (came with the CD's) but it can't seem to even find the cdrom drive. I also tried a smart boot floppy. It sees the drive but I don't know how to get it to cause a boot from cdrom.

Any suggestions?
