Download the driver installer from http://www.nvidia.com/linux
It's a linux executable .run file
If I'm mistaken and you're asking about the IGNORE_CC_MISMATCH flag...
just type the two lines at a prompt
the first sets the variable (to an ambiguous value of 1)
the second exports it so apps can see it...

After about five minutes with the built in driver "nv" screen glitches
were visible everywhere...
I've rerun the NVIDIA installer and recompiled for my kernel....
Everything is now... great.
If anyone else needs to remember...
to turn off the CC check for the NVIDIA installer...
