Hi, I noticed following problem with an Asus A7V133 (VIA KT133A) mainboard: I get above message (including a backtrace) on boot thus disabling every device on IRQ6. I get this with various linux kernels even with 2.6.18. I am not sure whteher it is a bios issue or linux making something wrong. Accroding to the manual IRQ6 is for the floppy controller and not assignable to otherPCI devices. I have no floppy connected and maybe this is the cause for linux falsely thuinking that IRQ6 is free? As long as I don't insert PCI card on INTD line usb gets assigned to IRQ5 and everything is fine. As soon as I insert a card into PCI Slot 4 or 5 - which are shared with INTD - those devices get assigned to IRQ6 and thus gives the error. (Here irqpoll help my devices to work anyway, but I don't think this is the prefered solution.) My work-around for this is manually assigning INTD to IRQ5 in the bios - then linux sets those to devices to IRQ 5 and everything is fine. So my question, even if this is due to a broken bios, should a quirk be inserted into linux to not allow to assign IRQ6 to a PCI device? I guess this should prevent the issue. I think before I shifted my PCI cards I got something similar with the onboard promise card, which is another INT line, but I don't remember which IRQ was affected.
