2.6.18-rc1-mm1 - bad serial port count messages

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi Andrew,

I've just booted up 2.6.18-rc1-mm1 last night after 29 days of uptime
running 2.6.17-rc4. Aside from not having any Virtual Consoles due to
the missing /sbin/gettyps, things look ok so far, though bootup is
fairly slow.

I'm getting the following messages in dmesg:

  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0
  uart_close: bad serial port count for ttyS0: -1
  uart_close: bad serial port count for ttyS0: -1
  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0

  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0
  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0
  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0
  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0
  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0
  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0
  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0
  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0
  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0
  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0
  uart_close: bad serial port count for ttyS0: -1
  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0
  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0
  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0
  uart_close: bad serial port count; tty->count is 1, state->count is 0

Which I suspect might be because I'm running a serial console to catch
an oops. The first time I booted 2.6.18-rc1-mm1, I got an OOM from
ext2.fsck, which is strange since I have 768mb of RAM. Since I didn't
have the serial console hooked up, I couldn't get any debug output
from there.

The second boot worked (eventually, had to do other stuff and couldn't
watch it boot).

Here's the full dmesg output of my bootup:
