You should not put anything in /proc for a driver.

What do you need to put in sysfs becides what is automatically created
for you by the driver core?
It really depends on what you are wanting to do.

Take a look at the book, "Linux Device Drivers, third edition", online
for free, for more details about sysfs and the driver core.
