RE: [patch] fix pciehp compile issue when CONFIG_ACPI is notenabled.

I don't think that we are saying that acpi_status should not be used
outside of ACPICA. After all, that is what most of the external ACPICA
interfaces use for the function return value.

It would probably be best, however, to limit the use of this type to
modules that actually interface directly with ACPICA.
