Hi Alan,
I just tested the patch on my desktop (VIA VT8233A) and on my notebook
(SiS 5513): it boots correctly and performance (hdparm -T) looks good.
With atapi_enable all optical drives are recognized; I didn't try
burning (I'm out of disks...), but I'll do the test if it's useful.
