I had little problem in applying this patch to 2.6.12-rc5-git5 after
deleting those 10 or so bogus lines, the only real failure being the
Makefile, easily fixed.
I took the defaults for all the new stuff in a make oldconfig started
with the .config from rc5-git5.
I've rebooted to it & it generally feels good, but the missus came in
just now and said something about the video quality of my home tv
channel, and I found that I do not have video from tvtime now, only
audio, and a very noisey messages log when tvtime is running (git5 by
itself ran tvtime ok), plus a lot of output on the VT that started
boinc & einstein@home, something about a memory being exceeded. But
its at 1 second intervals and not copy/pastable across a ctl+alt+F1
to ctl+alt+F7 switch.
That I've stopped & restarted from an xwindow, hopeing the messages
will repeat shortly.
Ah, heres one:
2005-05-31 12:12:13 [Einstein@Home] result
H1_1262.4__1262.8_0.1_T00_Test02_3: memory usage 125263872.000000
exceeds limit 70000000.000000
Which, due to the decimal display format, makes zip sense to me. I've
stopped it.
.config, pieces of logs available for the asking.
