Could you please do the following:

1. Reboot with the patch applied
2. "echo 1 > /sys/modules/i8042/parameters/debug"
3. Wait 5-10 seconds
4. Touch your touchpad briefly
5. "echo 0 > /sys/modules/i8042/parameters/debug"
6. send me dmesg
