Nope, this doesn't fix the problem. Here's the dmesg of 2.6.11.6 with
'acpi_skip_timer_override apic=debug':

The clock still runs at double speed. The IRQ assignments seem to all have
been permuted, though, with 'acpi_skip_timer_override'
