For the novelty value.

NCQ is a nice feature, but hardly essential.

So is baking soda flavoured toothpaste - whats yer point? :-)

Anyway, the 3ware controller (if it is avaliable for PCI express) sounds good. Off-mainboard solutions tend to be quicker anyway.
