Smells to me like reins and crops versus brakes and accelerators; horses 
were nice but they just couldn't outdo their replacements: the autos.

I don't really see the difficulty in somethings as simple as

   dig @"nameserver I want to use" "what I'm looking up" "record type"


Sorry to all :/ Just couldn't get my keyboard to shut on this one...
