$ file conviction-tlr1_1080p.mov 
conviction-tlr1_1080p.mov: Apple QuickTime multiple URLs

It's essentially a QuickTime playlist, containing the actual address of the 
movie encoded somehow. Unfortunately, I have no idea how to read its content. 
If you buy the Mac and the QuickTime player, I guess it would read the address 
and play the movie for you. Otherwise, I don't know.

Maybe someone else can help out.
