I kinda doubt that will make any difference.
My sound card is different. It is an AC97 compliant
card, made by SIS chipset maker. It incorporates the
Intel 8x0 chip. Here is the lsmod output:

$ lsmod | grep snd
snd_intel8x0           25183  3
snd_intel8x0m          10338  0
snd_ac97_codec         96843  2 snd_intel8x0,snd_intel8x0m
ac97_bus                 942  1 snd_ac97_codec
snd_seq                45395  0
snd_seq_device          5546  1 snd_seq
snd_pcm                69369  4 snd_intel8x0,snd_intel8x0m,snd_ac97_codec
snd_timer              18560  2 snd_seq,snd_pcm
snd                    53068  12 snd_intel8x0,snd_intel8x0m,snd_ac97_codec,
                                  snd_seq,snd_seq_device,snd_pcm,snd_timer
soundcore               6361  1 snd
snd_page_alloc          6888  3 snd_intel8x0,snd_intel8x0m,snd_pcm
