When using static NM_MANAGED ifcfg-ethX definition files, you do need to
have complete entries in there, including DNS.

You can set:
  DNS1=
  DNS2=
  DOMAIN=

etc

in the ifcfg file, and NM will then generate a proper resolv.conf for you.

Good Luck!
