But just because a tool doesn't fit for you, that does not mean the tool is broken. I can get the layout I want using DD. I could also get the layout I want by using fdisk or parted before installing, or during install by switching to the command prompt. But it would be extra work that I do not need to get the results I want. I have to admit that I don't use LVM in my layout - but that is my choice, and DD lets me make that choice.
