This is fairly old and should have a stable driver in hda-intel. The
version of the drivers in F11 is 1.0.18 in the 2.6.29 kernel. The
2.6.30 kernel in testing has 1.0.20 drivers. And alsa has just released
the 1.0.21 drivers. You could go to http://www.alsa-project.org and
download, compile, and install them to get the lastest stable hda-intel
driver.

If you really want to understand the hda-intel architecture and its
relationship to alsa, and how to configure it in alsa, read the document
at this link. If you pursue it diligently, you will get your card
working or know the reason why it doesn't work.
