I'm trying to make vmware server 2.0.1 working on a i686 architecture.
Can you explain me how to patch vmware?

I used the vmware-server-modules-2629tar.gz patch, unpacked it, copied
the tar files on the right place.

vmware-config.pl starts and compiles, but vmware doesn't start.

After the first time I issue the command /etc/init.d/vmware start

The output is
# /etc/init.d/vmware start
VMware Server is installed, but it has not been (correctly) configured
for the running kernel. To (re-)configure it, invoke the
following command: /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl.

and if I execute the /usr/bin/vmware-config.pl the result is:
The following VMware kernel modules have been found on your system that
were
not installed by the VMware Installer. Please remove them then run this
installer again.

vmmon
vmnet
vmci

I.e. -
'rm /lib/modules/2.6.29.6-213.fc11.i686.PAE/misc/<ModuleName>.{o,ko}'

Execution aborted.

I can't understand what is appening

Can someone help me?

Bye
 Ambrogio
