This is the 1st post I found that describes exactly the problem I have.

1 Nvidia 8600GTS card, 2 LCDs. 
screen0 - fully functional,
screen1:- just a default background. no functionality whatsoever.

Under gnome, everything is as it's supposed to be.

And I have kde 4.2.1
