I have a /usr/lib64/firefox-3.0.1 but no /usr/lib/firefox
(or /usr/lib64/firefox).

Do 'rpm -qf /usr/lib/firefox'. If no package owns it, you may have
installed an earlier version of FF from a direct download, in which case
it could be interfering. I'd get rid of it.
