The fish might be free, but are bound to the terms of the GPL
they can move anywhere in the ocean from the outer limits into the inner limits, they however have some enemies like sharks(Microsoft), and they can die at any time before Les catches them.

To cat the free fish living in the sea, Les will need more than a free boat.

He will also need Nets, but he will get a GNU/Net(catches more fish than a Microsoft net can catch), He might want a fishing rod as well, He can use these products, but he cannot claim that he invented them and yes he can use them however he wants for his own use, but if he decides to make changes and distribute them, i.e, sell to other fisherman, then he must make those changes available back to GNU so that GNU knows what Les Fishery Inc., did. HE might need energy to power the boat, is the boat going to run on steam?, gas powered, solar powered, Air & Wind Powered with GNU/Sails? He does need much more? Yes GNU provides these things, but he does not want to give credit to them :( His company is Les Fishery Inc., Not Les/GNU Fishery Inc.

Regards,

Antonio
