You mean, white, yellow, cyan, green, magenta, red, blue, black, and the
second shades of the same ones?  (digital RGBI VGA)

I wouldn't have thought so, though perhaps some hardware might have to
work that way.  None of mine did.

I can see why, otherwise you could end up with unreadable menus,
depending on the image you used (e.g. black text on dark grey).
