Same here, I get the HTML source for the link to the image.  But if I
drag an image onto Evolution, I get the image (so long as it was just an
image in the page, not an image in a link).  I've usually found that
dragging things out of Firefox generates bookmarks of some kind, rather
than copies the content.

If I drag select around the image, I can do a copy and paste of the
image into OpenOffice.org.
