I don't know if this will help you but I had an initial issue with installing
F8 on a Dell 530S - which came with Vista on it.  I used Vista's own disk
management system to shrink its own partition - and then I had to go into the
BIOS settings and change the disk mode from sata to raid and then F8 installed
without any problems.  I seem to remember I may have had to install the e1000
driver from a file on CD to get ethernet to work but other than that the 
F8 system works well with those changes.

As I said I am not sure if the 530 has the same issues but it may be worth a
shot?
