glibc 2.8

I'm looking at a 9-Beta mirror, and I see that 9 seems to still have glibc 2.7, specifically "2.7.90".

I was hoping to play with 2.8, specifically the timerfd API.

Can we expect to get 2.8 as an update, later on, or does the 2.7.90 build include the timerfd bits, as the 2.6.25 kernel does support the API.
