USB keydrive not recognized

My ThinkPad T61 (x86_64) refuses to recognize any USB device plugged
into any of the three USB ports.

Is there some obvious configuration thing that I'm missing?  Or is this
a known issue?  On a T41 (i386), everything seems to be fine.  I think
some of the T61 ports were working at one time, but I can't recall
exactly when.  This is kernel-2.6.23.15-137.fc8.
