Here's yum.conf:-

    [main]
    cachedir=/var/cache/yum
    keepcache=0
    debuglevel=2
    logfile=/var/log/yum.log
    exactarch=1
    obsoletes=1
    gpgcheck=1
    plugins=1
    metadata_expire=1800

I just did "yum install sane-backends-libs" and got the following:-

I've had this problem before where I want both 32-bit and 64-bit
libraries installed, if they're just a bit out of step.
