it's already at 0:

[root@nico2 etc]# cat  yum.conf
[main]
cachedir=/var/cache/yum
keepcache=0
debuglevel=2
logfile=/var/log/yum.log
exactarch=1
obsoletes=1
gpgcheck=0
plugins=1
metadata_expire=1800
installonly_limit=2

it's not even overridden in any of the repository definitions
