Marcelo:

I know exactly what your problem is, I think.  I had this problem 
with FC6.  You are missing libstdc++.  Just yum install it and 
Applets should work again.  Why the plugin works with Java 1.5 and 
not 1.6 I can't tell you.  I can tell you it took me months to find 
this.
