Have you set SELinux to allow sharing of home spaces?  Look for Samba in
the Boolean section after running system-config-selinux.

Likewise, for letting Samba through the firewall?  Which can be allowed
through running system-config-securitylevel.

(Both of those require running them as root.)

Using FC 4, 5, 6 & 7, plus CentOS 5.  Today, it's FC7.
