Just type dmesg and you will see the boot up logs, as for your swapoff
problem I suggest you include the command:

swapon /[device name]

I'm no expert but that's my 2 cents.

Fedora 7 is booting up with it's swap off. I have to '# /sbin/swapon
/dev/sdb3' every time I boot in .

On boot, I see an error message:

Unable to resume swap device sdb3. no resume ...

Here is Fedora 7s' fstab:

LABEL=/1                   /                          ext3
defaults                 1 1
LABEL=/boot1            /boot                   ext3     defaults

tmpfs                         /dev/shm             tmpfs   defaults
              0 0
devpts                       /dev/pts               devpts gid=5,mode=620    0 0
sysfs                         /sys                      sysfs
defaults                  0 0
proc                          /proc                    proc
defaults                  0 0
LABEL=SWAP-sdb3    swap                    swap    defaults                  0 0

p.s. In what log file is a copy of the boot up screen in.
