Rahul. You are taking issue with my useage of words here. I know that there is a live CD available, but I'm sure that you were well aware that the complaint was to do with what was available for previous FC versions. FC6, and prior versions were available as sets of CDROMS, along with the option of a DVD.

Allright. Perhaps most folks have DVD drives, and in this case there is no problem. One of my 2 machines has a DVD drive on it, but it's on a IDE PCI adaptor card, and a DVD won't boot on it. Effectively I'm stuffed if I want to install from DVD on that machine, but have no problems installing from CD's

Being on an IDE PCI card doesn't necessarily prevent the connected device from booting, but perhaps there is some other problem too... I haven't actually tried this, but I'd guess that if you burn the boot.iso image to a CD and boot from it, it would let you pick the DVD as the install source.

I'm sure there are many folks in my situation. I don't want to start some sort of argument about this, so shall we just end this discussion here.

If you have another machine that can export an NFS share, download the dvd image to a directory there, boot the boot iso on the target machine, give it the NFS info and install from there. If you have an external usb drive big enough to hold the dvd image, that should work too.
