Portsentry & apcupsd & Fedora 7

Has anyone been able to compile portsentry (1.2 - the latest available
from SourceForge) on Fedora 7 64-bit? I ran this on FC6-FC3 but now it
won't compile - the make outputs about 50 errors. I would like to use
this to increase security and limit access to the computer.

Also, when I had this running under FC6, I could not get apcupsd to run
even though I opened port 3551 through the firewall. Now apcupsd runs
fine and I can monitor the ups given that portsentry is not installed.
Any ideas on getting portsentry to compile/install and let apcupsd run
simultaneously? I tried previously to modify portsentry's config to
allow access to/from the ups but could never get it to work.
