I wonder if you pulled in the wrong CD image by some sort of
mistake. You should have a directory, Fedora-7-Live-i686, and in it
these two files:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 733427712 May 31 11:36 Fedora-7-Live-i686.iso
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 370 May 31 11:35 SHA1SUM

List the contents of SHA1SUM; you should see:

[root@charlesc root]# cat ../../Fedora-7-Live-i686/SHA1SUM
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

9f7caedd316d28686cb320c1640d07d403ab95ef Fedora-7-KDE-Live-i686.iso

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE-----
Version: GnuPG v1.4.7 (GNU/Linux)

-----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

If you run sha1sum, you should see, e.g.:

[root@charlesc Fedora-7-Live-i686]# sha1sum -c SHA1SUM
sha1sum: Fedora-7-KDE-Live-i686.iso: No such file or directory
Fedora-7-KDE-Live-i686.iso: FAILED open or read
Fedora-7-Live-i686.iso: OK
sha1sum: WARNING: 1 of 2 listed files could not be read
