I have a simmilar problem with cryptsetup, but I do not use LVM. I have
PATA and SATA disk in my box. Both encrypted *without* LUKS. I can access
the PATA disk but not the SATA disk.
I found out, that cryptsetup does not hash my password correctly. I could
use both disk with FC5 and I can still mount them correctly with Knoppix.

I already filled a bugreport
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=243086) but no
response so far...
