  just a guess but try editing the line abve to:
         kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.20-1.2948.fc6 ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet

Yeah, that's what it used to be before I started tinkering. The problem still exists with or without the resume2 parameter. Thanks though.
