Software raid is generally better than cheap raid hardware. If you buy a good
raid controller with battery backed cache you can get a big improvement with
some loads. (Database systems can get a big benefit from battery backed

For our Server System ( FC6 ):
Web ( php + Mysql + imp : horde.org/imp ), Mail, ftp, DNS, SSH ...etc.

So, which type / model of the RAID controller ( 3ware.com and promise.com ) is suitable for it ?
