Yeah - trust me, it isn't going to be a cakewalk (I am the one who did
the teTeXRPM and texjive experimental packaging mentioned on that page -
it was just too much work for me to keep it going)

When they do have TeXLive packaged in RPM, it may be worth it to use
their packaging again - but for now, using teTeX is using old macros -
and manually updating them to current macros is not a cake walk either,
just easier to install TeXLive 2007 - as a large number of packages in
the texmf tree have been updated.

There's other benefits as well to using TeXLive 2007 now.
For example, the Dia program can export to LaTeX so that you can include
diagrams created in Dia right in your LaTeX document w/o needing to go
the eps route. This is nice as the text in a diagram is rendered by
LaTeX using whatever fonts your document uses.

But it won't work with teTeX unless you install additional macro
package, which I believe (not 100% positive) itself wants updates to
some of the macros in teTeX.

So a user has to manually update their TeX system as it is in order to
take advantage of a cool new feature of a very useful program in Fedora
Extras.

Hopefully TeXLive (or another modern implementation) will be packaged
for FC7, I do not envy the task of doing it though.
