This may be beyond you, but I had similar problems with a linksys dsl 
router, and it was fixed by getting the latest firmware file for it from 
their site, and uploading it twice.  There may have been some stale data 
or a poor burn the first time as it would only run for a few minutes 
after the first re-write, but the second one has been bulletproof for 
nearly 2 years.  The original needed a powerdown reset about weekly.
